  • Oldest stock exchange in Asia. 

Indian index founded 1st Jan 1986 according to the wiki. India’s stock market index Sensex is the oldest stock exchange in Asia.

  • Market capitalisation 

Currently Sensex market is more than 3.1 trillion $(May 2021). which you get by multiplying the outstanding shares of the listing shares with the price.

On 25 July 1990,  Sensex touched 4 digits for the first time. It touched 5K on 11th Oct 1999. 10K on 7th Feb 2006. On 11th Dec 2007, the 10K market doubled itself. 16th May 2014 it Sensex crosses 25000. And on 21st Jan 2021 Sensex touched 50000 for the first time.

There are few other exchanges in India. Sensex and Nifty have the major trade volume. From the past few years, MCX has also had good volume.

There are two types of trends in the market. One is a bull and another one is a bear. Some investors like to trade in the bull market and with bears, but if you look closely there is one more trend that is called a sidewise trend. This is the trend that investors heat most.

In India, maximum people visit the site of SGX Nifty before the stock market opens. They believe that this index indicates that the nifty will open positive or negative, nifty opens in the same way.

According to the population, India is at second rank. But only 2.5% to 3% of this population is engaged in the stock market.
